How to start

Make the first
step clear.

Choose the piece you want to write and a specific amount to finish before the week starts. Reserve three writing sessions and a Saturday editing session, or choose another writing session if you prefer to edit later.

What It Includes

Your scheduled
commitments.

Start with three observable actions. Choose any personal targets and dates before starting, then adjust the routine to fit your life.

Commitment 1

  • Write for 20 minutesMonday, Wednesday, Friday

Write for 20 minutes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Commitment 2

  • Edit one sectionSaturday

Spend 15 minutes editing a drafted section each Saturday. If you’re still drafting and prefer to edit later, replace this with another writing session during import review.

Commitment 3

  • Finish your weekly writing target1 time per week

Finish a specific amount of writing chosen before the week starts, such as a rough section, one scene, or a short article.

Optional additions

Choose either, both, or neither. These start unselected during import.

  • Prepare your writing space: Clear your writing space before the Monday, Wednesday, and Friday sessions. Monday, Wednesday, Friday
  • Read your draft aloud: Read one drafted section aloud each week. 1 time per week

Record completed commitments in your D/R check-in.

Goal + Milestones

Know what
complete means.

Review your logs before marking a milestone complete. Adjust the targets if you change your schedule or replace editing with writing. Optional additions do not count toward milestones. Writing sessions can also count toward your weekly writing target. One tracks time spent; the other tracks what you finished.

Practical questions

Make it work
for you.

Can I change the schedule?

Yes. Choose three writing days and an editing day that fit your week. Adjust session lengths and the weekly writing target during import review.

What happens if I miss a day?

Resume at your next writing session or reschedule it. Count a qualifying week when you meet the session and writing-target requirements you chose. The four weeks do not need to be consecutive. If you replace editing with writing, update the milestone targets to match.
